The Sagebrush Meadow is one of the first ecosystems that students encounter when entering Ponderosa State Park. It is immediately recognizable by its strong sagey smell, except when it is buried by snow!
Cored a Ponderosa Pine, it was estimated to be 66 years old, but we didn't core all the way to the center.
Potential energy: 1.634 volts
Soil Moisture 13.2. Lots of pine trees, sagebrush and pine cones. It looked really dry but it was actually really wet.
The ground was very dry when we sat down to make observations. We found insect eggs on a sagebrush during our exploration. Only a few tree species and mature trees near our collection site. Lots of grayish colors and a dull appearance
