Updates to MOSS Programs: Fall 2020

Submitted by Beth K on

Dear Friends of MOSS,

Over the summer, the MOSS education team has been communicating closely with our local hospital advisors, the administration at UI, and local and regional school districts. With the reality of COVID-19 cases remaining at all-time highs both in Valley County and in the Treasure Valley, we have decided it is in the best interest of the health of all students, teachers, and our own staff and local community to not host K12 Residential or Outreach/"MOSS at Your Place" programming in Fall 2020. We are taking our decision-making a semester at a time, and will make a call about Winter/Spring 2021 in December.

Although this is a sad reality for us and the students we would have served during these programs, we believe is it the right decision to keep programming local during the pandemic. With this decision also comes an exciting opportunity to serve more students in the West-Central Mountains. So, we have developed day programming for local students to attend MOSS while their schools are on adjusted schedules due to community spread of COVID-19. If you are a McCall area resident and in the local school district, you can indicate your interest until August 31st though the surveys at the following links. You may also reach out to K12 Programs Coordinator Beth Kochevar (ekochevar@uidaho.edu) if you have any further questions about the program.
